The luck my friend’s is totally of your own creation. That is the moment at which all wine should be drank and with a little insight and a lot of luck, fate will allow us the moment in which this will occur. It is that moment when everything and everyone is at its finest, when the earth and all its occupants pause for just a fraction of time in anticipation of what comes next. Twilight is that point when we have learned the lessons we are apt to learn and have spun our last breath, and told our last tale: our twilight years. 'So rich and so intensely extracted, one sip of this young wine soaks up every last bit of moisture in the mouth only to replace it. It is universally known as that optimum moment between day and night, light and darkness. Twilight is sometimes defined as when something is approaching its end, especially in a gentle or peaceful way. The service was very nice and it is clearly a hotspot for the younger crowd in the area. It is not really a restaurant but rather a (wine) bar that offers mini pizzas and a mixed plate with Sardinian cheese, meat and bread. Score: 8.5+/10, Value: 8/10 (9/10 on sale), Total: 16,5+/20 We were desperately looking for a good dinner when we passed the Domus Aurea. The Wine Spectator gave this a 92, but it doesn’t rank that high for me, maybe 89. The lack of fruit suggest that this is ready to drink now, but the fruits may be dormant the wine may still be sleeping, so in another 2 years maybe the fruits will awaken. The taste is ribena with alcohol, which you do get the heat from the 14.8% alcohol.
DOMUS AUREA WINERY FULL
The taste is dry, medium tannins, medium+ acid, medium+ length, balance and medium to full body. In the background there are current preserve, espresso and apricot. It has the textbook balsamic and minty notes of many wines from the Maipo, hints of nutmeg and cola nut, quite showy but at the same time serious. The 2013 shows a deep and dark garnet with purple shades before offering a bright nose of balsamic menthol, candied strawberries, raspberries and black currants. The nose is very unique and may not appeal to everyone as it has strong black current and mint that dominate. Domus Aurea Alto Del Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon - BuyRite Hopewell Wine, Spirits, and Craft Beer. 2,760 cases made.Description: Deep cloudy garnet with medium+ intensity on the nose. The long, suave finish lets a loamy edge play out. "Lilting, inviting aromas of mulled mint and warm espresso lead the way for a rich but supple palate of warm fig, currant preserve and bittersweet licorice. "The grape harvest in Clos Quebrada de Macul usually begins in April and lasts one month. The grapes are not separated on a simple quality criteria, but either on their identity, proper to the Domus style." -Winery Planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1970, the 45-acre Via Quebrada de Macul is the pride and joy of owners Ricardo and Isabel Pea. The vines planted there are 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a 20% blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc." Domus Aurea is the top wine from Via Quebrada de Macul, widely considered one of the top Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in Chile’s Maipo Valley. "Clos Quebrada De Macúl is a single hillside family owned vineyard planted to cabernet sauvignon back in 1970 when it was unheard of in Chile to plant on more difficult-to-farm, lower-yielding hillside sites.

The wines are bottled after being blended, and then kept for 18 more months previous to their commercial launch." -Winemaker The blend study begins after the first four transfers, always with the same respect for the identity that Domus orders. "The wine is kept in french oaks for 18 months. This wine is unfiltered to preserve the original flavor and integrity¸ which will be much appreciated if you guard it for a long time." Nevertheless¸ the fact that the whole process is squared by the same respect for tradition and the “terroir”¸ makes every vintage a unique wine. "Eucalyptus notes¸ balance and freshness of its cherries and chocolate zest are the promises of Domus Aurea. Its texture¸ its flavor¸ round and pleasant tannins¸ will never be forgotten¸ such as the happy drinkers of this piece of art do think they know the secrets of the Maipo valley" "Domus Aurea is the cream of our wines¸ the result of skillful winemakers and the best possible natural conditions. Only a slight trace of bitterness in the finish keeps the score from being exceptional." 91 Points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate Dense and layered on the palate, with chewy extract, it is structured for the long haul. It exhibits an aromatic array of wood smoke, Asian spices, rose petal, cinnamon, and blackcurrant. "Domus Aurea’s 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is a glass-coating opaque purple color. 2,760 cases made." -92 Points - Wine Spectator
